New publication on connectivity elements and mitigation measures in policy-relevant soil erosion models in Europe

A new paper from the SCALE project entitled “Connectivity elements and mitigation measures in policy-relevant soil erosion models: A survey across Europe” has been published in the scientific journal CATENA. The results are based on a survey including 46 model applications across 18 European countries. It was found that regional or national data sets are preferably used for modelling, while European data sets are rather scarcely used. Further, detailed modelling of sediment connectivity was rarely the focus of the model applications. This great methodological diversity hampers the comparison of policy-relevant soil erosion risk maps.
